Our Story:
Tonight had the Tryon Crew filled with hope and excitment for many reasons. Jeremy Gerrow and his newly refinished LLM #23 made it's appearance with flare. The Gerrows have the car looking sweet and yet very recognizable. Riley Ekins Ministock #82,Tryon Masonry's "Rookie of the Year" is at present leading in Points here at Kawartha Speedway for his class. And Dwight Lavoie came ready to race in Ellisha's Ministock #36 240 Nissan SX. But...
As fate would have it, I had forgot to pick Riley's number which made him start stratch in the 10car heatB. The 82 was missing tonight but Riley never gave up and still held his point lead in the Race for the Championship in Ministocks.
Dwight recieved a fatal cut to our new tire when Ministock Car 47 played the usual cut down ,push high routine. Everyone is racing hard as the points are close and each race counts.
Sadly, Jeremy could not get stopped in corner 3-4 when LLM #88 spun out alone again and travelled up the track as Gerrow and others were approaching. No fault to any, just Hard Racing but for the second time in the night, body panels and fender chunks were tossed aside, crumple and destroyed. Unfortunately for Jeremy, this time they could not get him back out to finish the 100 lapper.
Doug Hanchard ,Newly back to racing; brought his New LLM #19 out to give the Kawartha 100 lapper a try. Nice to see New cars and fresh faces to our sport. Doug will be racing his LLM 19 at Peterborough Speedway on Saturday nights. Stop and say Hi in the pits,,he' a friendly guy.
Even though all had their problems and disappointments, watching the group gather for each other with open hands to help ; sure makes me proud I hang out with them. Look out Next Week cause we will be back, full of hopes and excitement for those who follow Racing.
